DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN NEW ORLEANS, LA CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a strong computer professional who is able to prioritize workload and maintain a positive relationship with various personalities. Must be able to troubleshoot IT systems with limited supervision. Employees working on client accounts must possess A+ certification.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Support HP desktops, laptops, workstations and printers.
- Diagnose and resolve PC technical issues.
- Wipe hard drives for PC disposal or re-use.
- Record, track, escalate and update requests through established systems.
- Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Requires 2-5 years of related work experience, or AA degree, or technical training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency with computers (hardware and software)
- Working knowledge of Windows Vista and Windows 7 Operating System
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Strong Customer Service skills including written and verbal communications; practices customer excellence behaviors
- Ability to converse appropriately with all levels of the organization
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and behavior
- Must be detail oriented and self-motivating
- Strong work ethic
- CompTIA A+ Certification required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Must pass background security check
- Must be safety conscious

PREFERRED SKILLS:

- HP Accredited Platform Specialist (APS) Certification - HP Commercial Desktops, Workstations and Notebooks
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card
