Desktop Support Engineer, 2nd Line Support, IT Support
An experienced Desktop Support Engineer is required by an outsource IT organisation, initially for a 12 month period.
This role requires a candidate to be available to start within the next few days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to desktops, laptops, smartphones, LAN, WAN and Internet
- Set up and configuration of new laptops and desktops
- Fault-finding on both laptops and desktops
- Completing internal user moves including phones
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated help desk incidents and service requests, and performing asset inventory activities as needed
- Support of MS Server desktops and MS Exchange
- Reimaging of computers/hard drives
- Troubleshooting and resolution of software issues
- Escalate IT issues to the IT Manager where necessary
Required Experience:
- Strong experience working within a support environment ideally having previously supported, desktops, laptops and smartphones
- Previous experience of setting up new desktops, laptops, MAC and smartphones
- Good networking knowledge, including WAN and LAN support
- Extensive MS Server and MS Exchange experience
- Strong ability to be able to trouble shoot and resolve software issues
- Previous reimaging experience
