Desktop Support Analyst (Windows, VMware, Citrix, Blackberry)

My Client are a large insurance company with over 50 offices across the globe. They are currently seeking a French and English speaking, successful desktop support analyst to provide an effective, capable & responsive desk-side services & support function, tailored to the specific requirements of the Client and its business partners, across the France offices and Spain.
Please note: Occasional travel to Lyon, Nantes, Strasbourg, Bordeaux & Madrid may be required- Fully paid.

Key Result Areas:
Strategy and Planning
*Working within the framework and guidelines of the Deskside Support team, undertake work and activities which support the achievement of the team's objectives.
*Be aware of wider Information Technology strategy and appropriately align effort with this direction
*Positively promote the Deskside support team in order to develop the team profile and that of the wider IT function.
*Participate in internal meetings, in order to share and develop knowledge and best practice

Policy, Process and Procedures
*Contribute to the ongoing deployment of a Desk Side service which provides a quality end user computing service to staff.
*Ensure compliance with defined service processes and ITIL best practice guidelines.

Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus
*Build positive, open and constructive relationships with staff, working in partnership and managing customer expectations as necessary.
*Act as a local point of contact for all IT related issues, taking ownership and overseeing issues through to resolution in order to ensure business users are provided with support which enables them to meet their objectives and work priorities.
*Takes a proactive approach, acting as hands and eyes for tier 3 support teams, ensuring issues are flagged in good time and sharing relevant information as required.

Technical Performance
*Provide comprehensive advice and guidance for all desktop related issues and incidents in order to ensure that business users are provided with an informed, accurate and efficient service.
*Provide specialist advice to customers in smaller locations, in order to ensure they are provided with an efficient support service and any queries and issues are resolved efficiently.
*Contribute to projects which involve testing, building, implementation and support of changes to the desktop environment in order to ensure technical considerations are understood and desk-side implications are flagged in good time.
*Contribute to the Knowledge Management Tool in order to ensure information is current and relevant.
*Maintain an awareness of relevant technical best practice in order to ensure dynamic and compliant service provision.

Knowledge
*Good understanding and background of Network, Application and Desk side technologies.
*MS Windows (Vista and Windows 7) keep up to speed with latest versions
*Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010 including Project, Visio and Access.
*Zenworks/SCCM/AppV
*VMWare/RDP/VDI
*Citrix
*Industry standard protocols.
*Blackberrys/iPhones/other Smart devices.
*Dell Hardware
*MFDs
*Video conferencing.
