Desktop Support

We are currently seeking a Desktop Support for 3 months contract position in Denver, CO.

SKILLS:

- This position is responsible for the installation, operation, configuration and management of desktop & laptops deployed in the CHI network infrastructure.
- Minimum of 5+ years expertise in an desktop environment
- Good knowledge of Windows OS and should have worked on similar projects? Ability to analyze and solve technical problems
- Ability to solicit and convey moderately complex information and make recommendations.
- Should have ITIL Awareness? Windows XP, Vista,7 Knowledge is required? Proficient in windows Desktop Operating Systems administration
- Excellent expertise in trouble- solving hardware and operating system related issues for Desktops and Laptops.
- Excellent trouble- solving skills on Windows operating systems, desktop applications and LAN trouble-solving.
- Remote system administration.
- Expertise in installing, configuring and trouble- solving printer and print related issues Knowledge

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Windows OS Support(L2)-Add/Remove Domain/Domain Controllers, Trusts Administration, Sites And Subnets Administration Site Links Administration, Global Catalog Servers, Movement Of Users Between OUs, Organization Units Administration, GroupPolicy Administration, Implementation Of Group Policy, Domain Controller OS andHardware Administrating, Server Performance, optimization and finetuning, Checking the ADS health, Checking network health,Establishing VPNConnection,IP Security, Administering Terminal Services, Administering Certification Services, Administering DHCP, Implementing DNS Service, Implementing IIS Service, Implementing RAS service,Implementing RADIUS Service, Setting up FTPServers,Implementing IAS Service, Administrating IAS,Domain Controller issues tobe resolved with in the time frame,Resolve alerts indicating the followingservices are not running: FRS, Net Logon, KDC, W32Time, andISMSERV. Administrating SYSVOL folder, Resolve alerts indicating that the domaincontroller is not advertising itself,Resolve alerts indicating timesynchronization problems, Administer Domain Controller Hardware Monitor overallservices of Windows 2003 OS,Monitor the network link between the sites andDCs,Review the Duplicate Service Principal Name Report to list all securityprincipals that have a service principal name conflict.Monitoring for latestservice packs and patches,Review the Replication Monitoring,Report to verifythat replication throughout the forest occurs within acceptable limits.Reviewthe Active Directory response time reports.Review the domain controller diskspace reports,Review all performance related reports. Adjust performancecounter thresholds or disable rules that are not applicable to the environmentor that generate irrelevant alerts. Perform Active Directory Databasecompaction,Check the Win32 Time Service manually against atomic source,Preparefor Active Directory Installation.Install Active Directory.Configuring andEstablishing the Active Directory,Decommission a domain controller.Identify thecurrent configuration of a domain controller.Restore the original configurationof a domain controller. Add the global catalog to a domain controller andverify global catalog readiness.
- Remove the global catalog from a domaincontroller.Return unused disk space from the directory database to the filesystem.Change the space allocated to the Staging Area folder.Ensure no glitchesare present in the space allocated for Staging Area folder,Configure a clientto request time from a specific time source.Optimize the pollinginterval.Disable the Windows Time Service.Remove lingering objects from anoutdated writable domain controller.Remove a manually created trust. Preventunauthorized privilege .Move a domain controller to a different site.Testingthe Services packs, Hotfix, Security patch etc,Communicating the patchdeployment to all stakeholders,Deploying the patch,Scheduling Active DirectoryServices Backup,AD Database integrity Check,Restoration Drills Of ActiveDirectory Backup,Perform a non-authoritative restore.Perform an authoritativerestore of a subtree or leaf object.Recover a domain controller throughreinstallation.Restore a domain controller through reinstallation andsubsequent restore from backup.Testing the Signature file,Installation ofperiodic DAT file updating on Servers Addressing to the clusteringissues,Resolve the incidents in cluster domain,Administration of Clusters.
