Desktop Specialist - MS Infrastructure, Server, SCCM, SOE, Scripting

A high profile Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced DESKTOP SPECIALIST to join their talented and dedicated team in Canberra for a 12 month contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

- Provide specialist services in regard to desktop hardware and software configuration within the Standard Operating Environment (SOE).
- In conjunction with managers, prioritise, analyse and complete tasks according to the nature and urgency of the request.
- Package software for delivery to SOE via SCCM.
- Provide 3rd level Support services for desktop SOE issues.
- Participate in resolver groups as part of the problem resolution process.
- Implement changes to departmental systems SOE strictly in accordance with departmental change control procedures.
- Ensure that the tasks and progressive action history are duly recorded and concluded to the client's satisfaction.
- Participate fully in the project management process and endeavour to achieve client outcomes in the most effective way. Willingness to be involved in scheduled rollouts.
- Maintain data and office security and system integrity in accordance with Departmental Security Instructions.
- As required, provide advice for ongoing maintenance of the ICT infrastructure.

To be considered for this role you will need to have the following;

- Extensive knowledge and experience developing and supporting the software desktop products.
- Highly developed Microsoft SCCM skills
- Knowledge and experience in application virtualisation technologies, AppV
- Extensive Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Server 2008, Windows 7, SCOM, AD, DNS and Office 2010.
- Scripting skills in Powershell/VB/Batch scripts
- Highly developed problem diagnostic skills and troubleshooting applications.
