Our client is an innovative healthcare solutions company dedicated to providing affordable, accessible services while maintaining a personal connection for patients. Thousands of workers are protected and healthier due to the efforts and innovations of this AHA Platinum level company.

Currently this client is looking for a qualified Desktop Support Technician to ensure the timely deployment and maximum availability of the network (data, voice, video) and desktop infrastructure by analysing the individual desktop environments and applying the best technical solutions. This candidate will participate in major and complex projects and perform problem diagnosis of the network and desktop environments. High level analytical ability, technical knowledge and customer service skills are critical for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field
- Minimum of 3 years work related experience
- In lieu of the college degree, a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in network and PC support required
- A+, CCNA and Microsoft Certified Professional Certification in any desktop technology encouraged
- Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) will meet the educational requirements
- Demonstrated ability to perform analysis and make decisions that provide innovative and effective solutions for complex technical problems
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot network connectivity and PC problems using schematics and wiring diagrams and update wiring diagrams as required
- Exceptional experience with Apple OS, Mac build process, Mac integration in Microsoft environment, supporting Mac in a corporate environment
- Exceptional understanding of implementation and sustainment requirements for networks and desktop in an Enterprise (250+ device/client) environment
- Strong proficiency in the use of a personal computer and software tools such as Microsoft Office, MS Exchange, MS Office Communicator, MS SharePoint
- Must have demonstrated ability in generated reports by joining data from multiple data sources
- Proficiency in deployment or administration of Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system in an enterprise environment
- Must have experience in Object Oriented programming (ie VB, Visual Studio, C#)
- Experience with MS System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or similar system management tools
- Experience in HTML or web page design preferred
- Exceptional knowledge of current network technology, desktop technology, industry standards and trends
- Must be able to automate tasks and document them for others to use
- Ability to prioritize assigned workloads and effectively complete projects and priorities
- Attention to detail, administration and demonstrated organizational skills required
- Strong verbal, written, listening and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with all levels of employees
- Must be flexible and highly receptive to change
- Experience in project management techniques and the ability to lead projects to a timely successful outcome
- Must have strong ability to project/forecast time allocation for project completion
- Must be familiar with infrastructure management techniques such as change management, problem management, release management, configuration management and/or system life cycle
- May be required to travel periodically
- May be required to be on-call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day on a departmental rotational basis

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Direct, world class customer support of desktop environment, which includes, personal computers, laptops, printers, personal digital assistants, audio visual equipment and telephones.
- Responsible for customer support through direct interaction with end users by telephone, chat, remote connectivity and dispatched trips to the desktop
- Analysis and documentation of customer request requirements and problem symptoms to make recommendations and implement moves, adds, changes, and maintenance of desktop equipment, and internal data and telecommunication wiring infrastructure
- Reporting from multiple databases and data sources, creating trending reports, and auditing tools
- Automation of manual processes using Scripting knowledge and tools
- Creating and maintaining team support web pages
- Initiating process and system improvements
- Ensuring maximum system availability and assisting in the oversight of internal support personnel and outside vendors in the performance of support duties
- Assistance/training and mentoring to staff in the Field Services Group
- Development and execution of test plans for compatibility testing for hardware and software analysis and evaluation
- Using wiring diagrams to install, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair hardware
- Selection and development of configuration standards for desktop and desktop peripherals
- Direct contractors and vendors to deploy and support required infrastructure technology
- Collaborate effectively with internal and cross department peers to provide results to management in a timely matter through case updates, weekly project reporting, Q/A reporting
- Actively participate in meetings and may conduct meetings for small multi-discipline teams (3+) for complex work efforts including resolving issues, coordinating or project work
- Assimilation of new technology and methodologies
