Desktop SIMS Engineer (2nd Line Support)

SIMS, SCHOOL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, 2ND LEVEL SUPPORT, 1ST LEVEL SUPPORT, SCHOOL ADMIN SYSTEM, MAINTENANCE, SUPPORT, HELPDESK.

OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR A DESKTOP SIMS ENGINEER (2ND LINE SUPPORT) FOR A 3 MONTH CONTRACT TO BE BASED IN HARTLEPOOL.

To deliver maintenance, support and training in all aspects of School Management System, including hardware and networks, particular emphasis on the SIMS package.

KEY DELIVERABLE:

- Attend training courses and appropriate seminars/conferences when required
- To evaluate new modules and upgrades when required
- To prepare detailed, informative guidance notes for schools when upgrades, patches etc are released.
- Provide accurate and timely information to all the SIMS schools regarding upgrades, patches and new developments.
- To maintain a working and up to date SIMS System at the Schools ICT training facilities, and ensure all staff have resources to support SIMS over the phone and in the field.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Experience in development, planning, implementation of School admin system SIMS.
- Working knowledge of the SIMS core Modules and Microsoft environments

Essential:

- Provide 1st and 2nd level support for all PC and Laptop hardware, printing and remote communications issues, particularly HP Printing.
- Experience with Outlook
- Experience in fault finding/fixing of mobile tablets/Ipacs
- 2nd line support to the Service Desk
- Proven ability to provide a high level of technical expertise and well as a customer focused approach

Desirable:

- Experience within a server environment
- Experience with CITRIX technology and ICA clients
- Experience of creating and editing group policies
- Knowledge and experience of creating and manipulating g software delivery techniques
- Experience of Liaising with 3rd party suppliers to resolve issues
