Projektbeschreibung

Desktop manager role monitors call ticket queue daily, sets work priorities, creates MI Reports, conducts personnel reviews, and assures timely response on tickets and system recoveries. This position interfaces with other IT Support, Systems and Network Managers to assure quality technical support to users, and interacts with user groups to determine their technology support needs to resolve those technical issues.

The Manager, Desktop Support monitors the performance of technical staff members, mentors new system support staff, and provides technical and supervisory direction. In addition the role liaises with Suppliers and manages the relevant budgets and invoices.

POSITION DESCRIPTION (ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

- Provides world-class desktop support services to end users, managers and executives with a sense of urgency
- Provides support for critical components including after-hours on-call support coverage as necessary
- Plans upgrades and provides support for desktop, laptops, hardware and software, protocols, file systems, printing  and account security for relevant systems
- Works proactively with HR to on-board new employees and order hardware and software for those employees
- Performs Event Technical Support Planning, logistics, and coordination of resources
- Works collaboratively with teammates across geographic sites within virtual teams
- Conducts interviews and performance appraisals
- Provides technical assistance and mentoring to other members of the virtual desktop support team where necessary
- Works directly with system administration and engineering-level peers to ensure stability of network and Servers

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

- Minimum 5 years of successful experience in managing desktop support team members, their projects, workloads and daily schedules and activities
- Minimum 5 years hands-on troubleshooting/support experience with desktop support technologies including: Windows XP Professional/Win 7/8, MS Exchange/Outlook 2010, iPhone, iPad, SCCM
- Demonstrable understanding of VDI technologies with a fundamental understanding of network technologies
- Solid troubleshooting experience with hardware
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels
- Strong team player with experience working collaboratively with a virtual team of technologists and managers in an efficient manner
- Strong customer service skills with professional appearance, punctuality and a sense of urgency
- Detail oriented with ability to work collaboratively on multiple projects in order to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Microsoft Certified System Administrator or equivalent certification would be an advantage
