Desktop Engineer - Remote Desktop - European Council

For a position at the European Council in Brussels we are currently looking for a "Senior Desktop Engineer".

Your role:

- Integration and configuration of state of the art solutions
- Providing the desktop configurations designed to meet the user's functional requirements
- Mobile configurations tailored to enable remote access to the Secretariat's resources and to facilitate teleworking.
- Technical analysis and specifications, architecture, design, integration and deployment of client configurations
- Public workstations
- Secure workstations including thin clients and the associated Terminal Servers
- Portable workstations
- Personal Digital Assistants
- Tablets
- Definition, implementation, deployment and administration of user profiles and group policies
- Administration and maintenance of the client hardware and software infrastructure
- Automated deployment of client configurations
- Automated hardware and software inventory
- Licensing management
- Software repository
- Implementation and administration of security defined for client configurations
- Development of scripts to automate and monitor recurrent systems related tasks
- Operational support (2nd tier)
- Installation and configuration of all relevant hardware and software
- Daily monitoring
- Incident and Problem Management (e.g. trouble ticketing, fault analysis, diagnosis, and resolution)
- Reporting
- Coordination with 3rd party maintenance contractors
- Technical assessment of technologies and related products

Your profile and experience:

Education: Master degree in IT (or related matter or bachelor degree complemented by 5 years IT experience) (Mandatory)
Language: B2 in French OR English (Mandatory) - B1 on the other language (Asset)
Overall IT work experience: 7 years if Master degree (or 12 years if bachelor) (Mandatory)
Project related work experience: Design, integration, deployment and operation of desktop solutions: 7 years (Mandatory).
