DESKSIDE SUPPORT LEAD THE WOODLANDS, TX 12 MONTH CONTRACT, EXTENSION POSSIBLE

Reporting to the Head of IT, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of seven IT support contractors throughout the US.

Essential responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

- Day-to-day management of US desk side support personnel in 4 US office locations ( Horseheads/NY, Pittsburgh/PA, Houston/TX, Three Rivers/TX)
- Quarterly travel to each location and one annual trip to head office in Calgary
- Support maintaining the technical IT infrastructure for all environments
- Collaborate with project teams to provide infrastructure information and assist with planning
- Ensure quality and completeness of all generated standards and content from team
- Ensure alignment of standards and roadmaps with design requests

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/MIS/Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years IT related experience, with 2-3 years project management experience
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, email, and Microsoft programs
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure Architecture Standards
- Engineering level knowledge on networking, infrastructure design, server, storage, management/monitoring tools, messaging/mobility and information security including but not limited to:
- Server operating systems (Windows)
- OS Image creation and distribution
- System Management automation technologies and tools
- VMWare and virtualization technologies
- Physical Server Hardware standards
- Enterprise Storage technologies (Netapp SAN)
- Data Protection technologies (Netbackup, snapshots, exports/imports, Disaster Recovery methods)
- Systems Management and Monitoring Tools (SCCM, SCOM, etc.)
- Citrix
- IP Telephony (Cisco CM)
- Messaging Systems (Exchange)
- Mobile Device management Tools (Mobile Iron IPhone, Android, Blackberry)
- Mobile Development platforms
- Online Collaboration Platforms (SharePoint, Webex)
- Online Data Management Tools (Dropbox, box.com, MS 365, )
- Video Conference and Audio Visual solutions
- Knowledge of service based IT delivery models

CANDIDATE PROFILE

- Previous experience leading a team or possessing leadership skills preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily projects and those within the team
- Ability to work an 8am 5pm shift Monday- Friday
- Must pass 10 year criminal background check & drug screen
