Design Team Leader - Mechanical

Seeking a Senior Mechanical / Team Lead / Project Manager to work for an extremely exciting organisation based in Hampshire. This is a critical lead role for a growing organisation. My client has there product in service in over 35 countries worldwide, ranging from the jungles of South America to the freezing conditions of theArctic. They also have their product in operation within the military, paramilitary, commercial and rescue sectors; more than any other manufacturer. There product also plays a pivotal role in the commercial market as well as in rescue services around the globe, from airport rescue and engineering support to ice rescue and mobile medical clinics This role is for a strong engineer with a proven track record in Mechanical Design who has stepped up into more Senior / Team Lead positions in recent years and is looking for their next step. You will be overseeing the development of the whole team of 20 engineers and will be reporting directly into the Chief Engineer. The team of 20 is split into 3 multi-disciplined teams and you will have the team leaders from each of these teams reporting into you. Requirements for this role are as follows: - Experience in a lean production environment - essential (ideally using 6-Sigma) - Experience managing / leading a team - essential - Understanding of design process's - essential - Ideally experience working in multi-disciplined team - Experience in DFM (Design for manufacture) - Experience of systems design - Experience in Automation or Automated design The ideal scenario would be someone coming from a Marine background. However, people from an Aerospace or Automotive background would also generally be of interest due to the lean production process's you would be familiar with.
