Design Product Change Engineer X2

Design Engineer South East Machinery Circa £35-40,000 This exciting new position is from a leading international manufacturer of bespoke machinery and equipment. The position is new to the business based on its success in their European facilities and will focus on maintaining their products suitability for manufacture within their changing market. Using strong creative design skills and your experience of design for manufacture you will review their existing product range and introduce improvements to prevent products from becoming obsolete. This will include both simple and complex design changes to existing legacy machinery. In this position you have a high degree of ownership of the design changes and significant internal customer contact. You will be required to develop solutions, validate your designs and then see them into production. The work will be highly varied as the nature of their product see's it adapted for use in a wide variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, defence, manufacture and consumer products. This position will suit a hands on design engineer with an ability to encourage and implement change. You will also need the following skills and experience: - Engineering design (electro-mechanical) to degree level or HNC with relevant experience - Previous design for manufacture experience preferably in hydraulics, pneumatics or medium to large scale fabrication - Proven track record in right first time design and design to cost - Knowledge of ISO9000 with experience in implementing and developing quality procedures - Strong 3D CAD design skills ideally in SolidWorks - 2D design awareness i.e. AutoCAD experience - Experience using Oracle (or another high end ERP system) - Good understanding of mechanical principles.
