DESIGN ENGINEER TECHNICIAN: The candidate in this excellent contract position would assist the engineering team in providing technical support to the thermal tool customers across all client sites on various thermal margining heads and controllers. The candidate would also provide program management support in coordinating internal ordering of thermal tools and controllers.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Support:

- Provides local and remote technical support to internal post silicon validation labs for installation and troubleshooting of various thermal margining heads and controllers using installation instructions and product manuals; requires understanding of the components and operation of thermal heads and controllers.
- Performs customer issue database enhancements and status/trends reports.
- Sets up samples of thermal heads for collecting thermal margining performance characterization data report, using simple lab equipment and Excel forms.
- Coordinates internal processing of thermal margining controllers repairs and coordinates between customer and factory repair personnel to redeploy units to customer.
- Prepares assembly drawings of thermal heads harnesses and controller assemblies, using Visio and CAD applications..
- Performs design verification activities, with product personnel and software engineering for release of a new controller.

Program Management Support:

- Coordinates internal ordering of thermal tools by validation customers, via web-based system, with vendors and development group.
- Updates product demand form with production schedules of thermal heads and controllers and coordinates with materials planning and purchasing personnel, based on internal orders at database and Silicon Power-On dates.
- Provides thermal tools production status to validation customers at weekly forum meetings, alongside development team.
- Tracks development activities of new controller and attends bi-weekly meetings, for timely release.
- Helps resolve schedule and technical issues..
- Prepares monthly activity/status/achievement report for technical support and program management activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 2+ years of experience with program management support and customer support in troubleshooting technical issues
- Understanding of the components and operation of thermal heads and controllers required
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers, customers, and other external contacts
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Windows operating system and effective use of a personal computing including Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to manage many tasks simultaneously and excel in a fast-paced environment
