Design Engineer (Mechanical / Project) Leeds

Based out of the Leeds office, the Mechanical Design Engineers / Senior Mechanical Design Engineers will ideally be degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering and/or hold an HNC / HND and have industry experience.

Proficient in 3D Design (Autodesk Inventor / ProE / SolidWorks / AutoCAD), the Design Engineers will be primarily involved in the execution of major design and manufacture projects for the offshore Oil & Gas industry.

The Design Engineers will be responsible for interpreting the relevant client specifications and/or industry standards in safe working design, produce 2D or 3D design layouts and detailed manufacturing / assembly drawing and delegate similar work to juniors, being required to check the work on completion.

The Mechanical Design Engineers will be required to prove by calculation that the designs are fit for purpose, meet the relevant industry codes and standards and the Mechanical Design Engineer will be required to write and/or check assembly, test and installation procedures etc.

The Mechanical Design Engineers should have knowledge of materials, corrosion, NDE techniques, manufacturing processes and techniques, as well as appreciation of costing and Bill of Materials.
