Mechanical Design Engineer - Manchester - up to 37,000

This is a brilliant and well established global company in Manchester that are involved in the development and manufacture of technologically advanced products. Their products and technologies have made them the the global industry leaders in their industry and are looking for a brilliant Mechanical Design Engineer to be part of their design team.

You will be required to provide creative and innovative technology solutions to satisfy customer requirements. You will be responsible for the production of commercially viable, high quality design solutions and the improvement of quality, cost and performance of existing products. Responsibilities:

-Produce designs from conception that meets targets for feasibility, performance, costs, quality, safety and timing.
-Design product/component for manufacture and consider ease of manufacture/assembly.
-Contribute to the preparation of design project briefs, design plans and development test programs.
-Liaising with suppliers (internal and external) to ensure that components are cost-effectively manufactured to meet design requirements, in terms of quality and efficiency.
-Be aware of resources available to the department and use these effectively when liaising with suppliers and toolmakers.

Job Requirements:

-Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
-Experienced in use of 2D and 3D design software applications (SolidWorks/AutoCad/ Catia V5/ ProEngineer)
-Creative and innovative approach to design.
-Must be able to design from "first principles" and have a sound mechanical engineering background.
-Strong communication skills and ability to develop relationship with suppliers, customers, colleagues.
-Experience in injection moulding, fabrications and/or jigs & fixtures
-Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
-Strong interpersonal skills.
-Flexible approach to demands, deadlines, project direction.
