Design Engineer - Catia - Gloucester

You will be accountable for the safe and reliable design of mutliple components used in the Aerospace and Automotive industry.

Working with the Lead & Senior Design Engineers and the
Development and Certification Manager, ensure regulatory guidelines and
requirements are met.

Role Purpose:

1) Carry out daily tasks utilising Catia v.5 in the efficient design of an aircraft structure
2) Support the Lead / Senior Design Engineer in the day to day running of the seating programme to ensure deliverables are on time and adhere to specification
3) Substantiate designs through 3D analysis and prototyping
4) Ensure the design is carried out in accordance to the relevant Airframe Specification
5) Ensure the design meets the aesthetic and technical ambitions of the customer
Essential

- Strong Mechanical Engineering degree or extensive mechanical engineering experience
- Experience in a mechanical engineering related field utilising CAD for product manufacturing
- Sufficient exposure to the latest manufacturing techniques
- Must prove sufficient 3D parametric CAD capability with both solid and surface modelling
- Must be an excellent communicator both verbally and written
- Must be capable of adapting to a fast and pressured environment

Desirable

- Experience in an aerospace seating environment
- Catia V5 CAD & SmarTeam PDM system exposure
- Has shown a consistent ability to problem solve and propose innovation
- Undertaking fundamental engineering hand calculations including stress analysis
- Finite Element Analysis experience
