Design Engineer - Aquatic

Permanent Design Engineer position available in Aberdeen area in Subsea Installation Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity in the oil and gas industry? I am currently working with a leading company specialising in designing equipment for subsea installation. You will report to the Engineering Manager and maintain key relationships with VP Engineering, Design Draughtsmen, Project Engineers, the Equipment Manager and Equipment Supervisors. Responsibilities include: * The development and preparation of equipment operation and project work packs to conform with company and client operational procedures * The development an implementation of project procedures for efficient and effective control of the project. * Construction and commissioning of equipment including * Design including structural modelling of equipment * Development of project plans, budgets and procedures for efficient and effective control of the project * Procurement of materials * Supervision of personnel (including sub-contractors) * Development of associated operations manual and maintenance schedules for the equipment * Demonstrate proficiency in the necessary soft/hardware applications that are needed to these tasks * To ensure existing equipment designs, specifications and drawings are maintained and to manage necessary changes * The inspection and testing of the integrity of company/client equipment and flexibles. Essential requirements for this role include: Knowledge of structural and steel engineering, with mechanical and fabrication experience in an Oil and Gas background, including topside, accommodation, cranes, and lifting cranes A background in bridge building will also be considered. You will have had experience in relationship building with clients and third parties, and experience working on quick projects. A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Structural Engineering would be preferred.
