Design Engineer - Antwerp - 12 Months

A GLOBAL ENERGY CLIENT OF MINE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A DESIGN ENGINEER TO JOIN THEM ON A CONTRACT BASIS AT THEIR SITE IN BELGIUM FOR AN INITIAL 12 MONTHS WITH THE VIEW TO EXTEND ON A ROLLING BASIS THEREAFTER.

JOB DESCRIPTION/TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Design Engineer (technical contact point) is responsible for the realization of the engineering assignment within his/her competence domain within the framework of a project team and under the functional management of the Project Manager.

Participates in or realizes architectural studies and projects for the operation of energy-related production facilities, both for new construction and for maintenance.

THE FUNCTION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

- Under the guidance of a senior, you write specifications for the construction, refurbishment or repair of buildings and structures, and the follow-up of the purchasing process for these services (comparison of offers, technical negotiations and follow-up of orders)
- Is the link between our design teams and the executor;
- In the purchase process you will be assisted by the Purchasing Department of the Customer;
- Control on the field of civil works
- Consultancy and feasibility studies on these subjects, including an estimate of the cost price and implementation planning;
- Assistance to diagnosis for concrete damage, concrete aging (inspection, determination of tests and lab analyzes, interpretation of the results and specification for repair)
- In particular, operational assistance in the field of civil engineering for Belgian nuclear installations (technical support, monitoring of aging of structures, diagnosis and technicalcommunicates unambiguously and openly.
- Listens to clients, shows critical analysis in their approach and likes to take initiatives
- Curious, takes the initiative to acquire new knowledge
