Design Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is for the second level design engineer for the Hydraulics team supporting Large Mining Trucks (LMT).
Design scope which includes a high level of integration of various components and subsystems in the area of hydraulics integration (eg steering, brake & brake cooling, hoist, rear axle cooling, lubrication systems).
The type of component-level design in scope includes, tube/hose design, tube/hose complex routing, simple fabricated steel structures, component mounting systems, non-metallic components.
The engineering disciplines applicable include fluid mechanics, kinematics, machine design, strength of materials, structural fatigue, noise/vibration/harshness (NVH), and heat transfer. SKILLS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(1) Bachelors degree in an accredited Engineering or Materials Science curriculum plus 1 to 2 years experience or a Masters degree in an Engineering or Materials Science curriculum.
(2) Demonstrated ability to work well in collaborative environment and to communicate effectively in cross-functional teams.
(3) Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to apply theory and concept.
(4) Proficiency with solid modelling software (Pro/E preferred).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(1) Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering degree.
(2) Design experience on heavy equipment/machinery.
(3) Design experience on hydraulics subsystems or components.
(4) Hands-on experience with machinery, engines, manufacturing processes, or welding, etc.
