Design Engineer

Our global Leading Aerospace company because of continuous growth is looking for 10 Design Engineer's for their night shift.
The successful Design Engineer's will join an exciting team environment and be responsible for planning, design, development and testing of mechanical systems.
As per the full job description, candidates must have a previous knowledge of Catia V5 and have a solid track record of working as a Design Engineer within an aerospace/automotive or engineering environment.

Level of work:

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines
Requires full technical proficiency in the theory and practice of area of specialty
Supports clients
Leads simple to moderate complexity projects
Manages simple to moderate complexity programs
Direction given in: projects

Specifically this role is responsible for:

The design and detail modelling of a variety of suite components in order to meet the programme requirements
The creation of Service Bulletins, Repair Schemes and Service Letters that meets the customers modifications or repair needs and that conform to EASA requirements through our DOA procedures
Managing and meeting cost and weight targets
Communicating effectively and professionally with customers and suppliers, translating technical information (Airbus, Boeing, Sukhoi and other Commercial airlines)
Participating in Design Reviews throughout each phase of the New Product Introduction process
The selection and application of materials and processes appropriate to each design element
Ensuring the successful integration of each design element with the product as a whole
Following and contributing to the development of the Best Practice guidelines as laid out in Quality documentation
Checking engineering packages
Generating and/or revising specifications
Participating in the validation of the product (using such methods as prototyping, test, DFMEA)

Required Knowledge:

Previous experience of using Catia v5
Engineering degree or ONC/HNC in design related
Effective oral and written communication skills
Good team working skills
The ability to work with a low level of supervision and intervention
Sufficient engineering capability and experience to create effective engineered solutions
Competent user of the incumbent CAD and data management systems
MS Word, Excel and Outlook
A working knowledge of the various methods of manufacture to be employed such as: Machining, Casting, Vacuum forming, Injection moulding, Composite materials, Trim and finish

A good understanding of:

Manufacturing capabilities and limitations
Methods of assembly employed by Operations
Material selection
Protective treatments
Aircraft interior architecture with a working knowledge of Boeing, Airbus requirements
Effective application of tolerances and G D & T
Awareness of the certification framework within which the work is undertaken
The companies change control process
Best practice for the integration of mechanical and electrical systems
