Design Engineer

The Design Engineer position that they currently have available has been created due to this growth, so I am looking for an engineer who is driven, focussed, and looking to build a name for themselves in the Oil and Gas Industry to take on this exciting and vibrant role. Could this be you? I am ideally looking for Applicants to hold the following: * Bachelor Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience. A related engineering or science degree with significant experience in the design of pressure containing or pressure controlling equipment will be considered. * 4 - 7 years experience in oilfield product design is preferred. * Basic understanding of hydraulic seals, materials and manufacturing methods * Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred), Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Strong written and oral communication skills * Ability to travel up to 10% overnight and/or internationally Typical job responsibilities will include: * New product development and applications engineering * Project lead for assigned engineering projects as it relates to customer/sales interaction, design, testing and APQP activities. * Create solid models and machine detailed drawings * Advise management team of industry trends and competitor activities, contribute to technical road map * Support sales team in developing product specification and quote activities * Perform sales and customer visits, actively supporting revenue growth and business profitability. * Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure manufacturability of product while maintaining quality, safety and environmental standards and achieving cost targets in a timely fashion * Coordinate with lab personnel in defining qualification tests and perform / support the lab in conducting tests * Maintain and update technical specifications and drawings for existing products catalog and development of new literature, catalogs and technical specifications as needed. * Participate and engage in sharing technology and information between other groups and locations. * Build and maintain relationships with the global Technical group in order to facilitate introduction to the market of new technology. The salary for this role will be completely dependent on your experience and your current salary, but the banding is wide and can accommodate up to around £60,000.
