Design Engineer

A Fortune 500 energy company is currently seeking an Electrical, Mechanical and 2 Civil Design Engineers for the Brunswick Nuclear Plant in Southport, NC. These assignments are scheduled to last 3 months, with the possibility of extension. Per diem and mobilization / demobilization will be available for qualified candidates. Actual pay rate will be commensurate with experience, so all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. Please indicate your desired rate during the application process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assume routine tasks within the Design Engineering organization, as well as special projects assigned to them individually
- Prepare, and review engineering design change packages required to support projects in accordance with applicable federal, state and local code and regulatory requirements
- Develop plant modification packages, prepare installation and test instructions
- Specify equipment, prepare proposals (specifications), perform technical evaluations of bids, and secure, monitor & manage contract engineering services in support of tasks / projects, as required

REQUIREMENTS

- BS or MS Degree in an Engineering discipline. Professional Engineering (PE) License or Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) Certification is preferred
- At least 10 years of Design Engineering experience at Nuclear Plants
- Experience with design change package preparation at other utilities is required
