Design Engineer

A Fortune 500 energy company is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer (A) and a Civil Engineer (B) at the Harris Nuclear Plant in New Hill, NC. These projects are scheduled to last 1 year, with the possibility of extension. Per diem and mobilization / demobilization will be available for qualified candidates. RESPONSIBILITIES

- (A) - Complete ASME Code reconciliations between different code years and Addenda years is also preferred. Perform heat balance and heat removal studies / calculations for static and dynamic air flow models
- (B) - Utilize analysis programs to develop and review analysis results for sufficiency and validity. Perform heat balance and heat removal studies / calculations for static and dynamic fluid models

REQUIREMENTS

- At least 10 years of Design Engineering at Nuclear Plants
- Reactor Head Replacement experience is a definite plus
- (A) - BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Advanced Degree a definite plus
- (A) - Understanding of and good working knowledge of ASME Section III and ASME Section XI, including applicable Code Cases. Experience in NDE requirements (including eddy current testing and radiographic testing implementation) would also be beneficial
- (B) - BS Degree in Civil Engineering. Advanced Degree a definite plus
- (B) - Working knowledge of and ability to use various analysis programs, such as STRUDL, ANSYS, NASTRAN and STARDYNE. Knowledgeable in thermal and seismic stress analyses
