Design and Development Engineer/Draughtsperson

DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER/DRAUGHTSPERSON

ROLE PURPOSE

1. To provide CAD and Engineering Expertise, supporting the operational activities of the Compant in meeting order book requirements.

2.To provide technical support to maximise sales opportunities and enhance customer perception of the capabilities and responsiveness of the Company

3. To identify, evaluate and where agreed implement new product and product/process development opportunities

4. To improve the capability of the Company (skills, product, process, equipment) in support of the Five Year Marketing Plan

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Balance activities to satisfy operational and longer term development needs

2. Complete activities to agreed time, quality and cost targets

3. Provide a technical interface to the supplier/customer

4. Ensure a complete and up to date design pack (drawings, BOM's procedures etc) are available within the Company

COMPETENCE (QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS)

1. HNC minimum or equivalent experience in and Engineering/Science Discipline

2. Good communication, organisational and inter personal skills

3. IT literate with experience of using CAD as a design tool

4 Ability to work to agreed timescales
