Derivatives Margin Analyst ETD Operations Settlements

My client is a leading custodian located in Canary Wharf who require a candidate with a good working knowledge of ETD derivatives to work in the derivative margin space.

The role is actually focused on payments and the movement of cash. Direct product knowledge is not required but an understanding will be necessary for the role.

Dedication to the role is also important- Maybe required to work from 7.30 am on occasion and UK Bank holidays

Experience:
- Someone who has previous experience of dealing with cut off points and strict deadlines.
- System skills- Swift is a major plus - MT202 and MT210 messages in particular.

The Derivatives Operations Outsourcing department provides middle and Back Office operational support to investment management clients across a wide range of Exchange-Traded and Over the Counter products. The team's responsibilities include trade capture, trade confirmation/affirmation, margin processing and settlement, coupon processing/settlement and the associated reconciliations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintaining Client business rules on margin buffers and tolerances
Monitoring Clearing Broker statements and margin files
Reviewing morning reconciliations to understand exceptions
Calculating proposed margin transfers using Client business rules and exceptions
Calculating proposed FX transactions to manage currency balances
Obtaining Client approval for proposed margin transfers and FX transactions
Confirming agreed margin transfers and FX transactions to Clearing Brokers and other stakeholders such as Fund Accountants, Trustees and Third Party Administrators
Instructing agreed margin transfers and FX transactions to Custodians
Reflecting agreed margin transfers and FX transactions in the accounting system
Investigating and resolving cash breaks related to margin transfers and FX transactions
Investigating and resolving queries and enquiries from Clients and other parties
Collating data for production of MIS and KPIs
Providing support for partners in offshore locations
