DEPUTY SERVER MANAGER - DV CLEARED  

DURATION: Initial Six months

LOCATION: Salisbury

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Steria Recruitment Ltd (a Steria company) provides recruitment and resourcing solutions to Steria, a leading European IT service provider. Steria requires a DV Cleared Deputy Server Manager to join a large and very professional team working with cutting edge technology in a complex environment.

The Deputy Server Manager will be responsible for managing the technical staff running the delivered infrastructure at a large Defence site.

The Deputy Server Manager will look for server technology efficiencies that will assist and improve current and future service delivery and provide cover for the Server Manager when required.

The role will be based near Salisbury and requires a current DV security clearance.

DEPUTY SERVER MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

- Align with the Server Manager and the Team Plan
- Assist the Server Manager and deputise for him where necessary
- Use the helpdesk system to resolve the Site Server Team calls to a defined SLA agreement
- Working closely with Staff to identify usage and capability and shortfalls enabling efficiencies and improvement
- Creating personal development plans to enable staff to grow and excel within this technical environment
- Some technical management and hands on is expected

DEPUTY SERVER MANAGER ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

- Team Leadership Experience Obtained from a previous role
- Solid understanding and proven track record with Microsoft technologies
- Experience with working with ITIL Framework
- Windows Server 2003/2008
- Active Directory
- RHEL Linux and HPC
- Microsoft SCOM

DEPUTY SERVER MANAGER DESIRABLE SKILLS

- Experience working in a secure defence environment
- Vmware ESX
- Cloud Technologies
- Citrix Xenapp
- DHCP/DNS/WINS
- Symantec Netbackup
- Symantec Endpoint Protection
- Knowledge of networking including Switching/Routing/Firewalls
- Hardware knowledge HP server range etc
- HP SIM
- Microsoft SCCM
