Deputy Payroll Manager

Our client, a fast-growing and ever-progressive public sector organisation, is looking to appoint a Deputy Payroll Manager for a 12-month period. You will be responsible for a team of 10 (going up to 12), reporting into the Payroll Manager, supervising a Payroll function responsible for 9,000 people. Your role will largely focus on; assisting with the management of an efficient and cost effective delivery of a high quality payroll service; ensuring accurate reporting and legal and regulatory compliance on behalf of the Group; recommending changes to processes and policy to improve the efficiency of the team; and deputising in the absence of the Payroll Manager, taking full responsibility for the team and the deliverance of the payroll.

The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified (or equivalent); demonstrate an excellent customer-focused attitude; proven experience of managing staff and strong leadership skills; significant working knowledge of the use of payroll systems; and display dedication towards continuous self-improvement.
