Sponsors and owns the execution of strategic deployment initiatives for company products or services. Leads and directs the work activities of internal and external project staff across organizational boundaries. Manages the deployment project efforts from inception through completion, including tracking and evaluation of project performance. Ensures that projects are successful in meeting deadlines and clients' business goals. Participates or conducts project reviews and status meetings, ensures follow up on issues and risks, and communicates project status to stakeholders. Utilizes project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness. Motivates project team to ensure optimal performance.

JOB CONTENT AND SCOPE

- Leads large complex deployment initiatives. Directs and coordinates the work activities of the internal and external project team.
- Tracks project progress and communicates status to stakeholders.
- Monitors project execution to ensure all obligations are met. Facilitates and ensures technical issue resolution as required.
- Coordinates with pre-sales project manager to ensure project synergies.
- Responsible for adherence to program plan and budgets as required for large projects. Recommends corrective actions and implements changes.
- Identifies and mitigates risks; develops and implements risk mitigation plans.
- Coordinates internal and external resources. Acts as the primary interface to internal and external teams.
- May manage challenging vendor relationships.
- Is responsible for direct communication to relevant senior stakeholders. Leads moderately-complex communications and/or negotiations with internal or external clients.
- Identifies and manages program enhancements and process improvements. Conducts project reviews through the life of the project.
- Receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.
- May influence the activities of junior level personnel.
- Interfaces with senior internal and external stakeholders, including sales and technical teams and senior leadership.
- Has frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.
- Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives. Represents the organization on projects and performs in a project leadership role.

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS

- A BA/BS degree, from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of 5 years project management experience
- Experience in Enterprise sector (wireless and mobile computing)
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Experience in communications and presentations with senior leadership
- PMP certification preferred
- Proficient in use of PC based documentation tools including MS Office and MS Project
- Willingness to travel to customer sites if required
- Has the ability to manage communications for a geographically-dispersed team.
