Deployment Engineer/Floorwalker
Clydebank, Glasgow
Based on Client Site
£120 - £150 p/d

Responsibilities:

The engineer will be based out of multiple sites which include: Glasgow, Erskine, Clydebank and Kilmarnock. Travel will be required.

This role is primarily a client facing role, a key member of the Project team, responsible for delivery of Deployment activities for customer units with responsibility to the Project Management team.

Deployment responsibilities:

. Deploy systems as per designated schedule to identified desk location.
. Communicate with individual users on deployment issues.
. Deploy the system as per predefined customer/Dell process & standards including but not limited to backing up and restoring a user's individual environment.
. Test the system against the designated acceptance criteria and obtain sign off.
. Where possible resolve encountered issues.
. Escalate unresolved issues to Deployment team leader and if not resolved to the Support Desk.
. Ensure designated schedule is adhered to.
. Resolve queries and problems users encounter, logging problems with the support desk and escalating as necessary.
. Man deployment surgeries for daytime deployment of mobile users/laptops.
. Ensure areas deployed to are left in a clean and tidy state and that any drop sheets/collateral are left with user.
. Return replaced equipment and any packaging to designated storage area.
. Ensure Customer satisfaction levels are high.

Floorwalker responsibilities:

. Conduct Floorwalking activities supporting newly deployed users.
. Provide floorwalking support as per the designated deployment schedule.
. Communicate with individual users on deployment issues.
. Provide support to Customer/Client process & standards including.
. Where possible resolve encountered issues.
. Test the system against the designated acceptance criteria and obtain signoff following successful resolution.
. Escalate unresolved issues to Floorwalker team leader and if not resolved to the Support Desk.
. Ensure designated schedule is adhered to.
. Man deployment surgeries for daytime support of mobile users/laptops.
. Assist deployment teams as required.
. Ensure Customer satisfaction levels are high.

Key Skills required:

* Basic trouble-shooting skills on desktops and laptops.
* Basic problem recognition on common desktop applications and operating systems.
* Basic network and desktop configuration and installation.
* May exhibit low level only network experience (Microsoft Networking) but may not have any certification.
* Perform tasks in relatively pre-determined job scope capacity.

Experience required:

. Experience in previous large scale rollout projects
. Experience delivering within a corporate environment with high levels of expectation.
. Experience of being part of a delivery team for a major OEM valuable.
