Demurrage/Voyage Analyst and Negotiator

World Leading Oil & Gas Company has an exciting opportunity for a Demurrage/Voyage Analyst and Negotiator to prepare and negotiate with external customers all demurrage, deviation and detention claims for all elements of the vessel charter party or oil contract deal.

ABOUT THE DEMURRAGE/VOYAGE ANALYST AND NEGOTIATOR ROLE:

-You will advise Oil and Freight Traders and Global Trading Network focal points on the potential recovery of demurrage and other voyage related expenses.
-Receive and negotiate (or reject) claims from Third Party Owners on chartered-in vessels.
-Update Trading systems in a timely manner and ensure the Trade Book is always fully informed of changes to P&L.
-Ensure all payments are authorized under the Manual of Authorities tool.
-Calculate any deviation and detention costs and ensure these costs are recovered from the contracting party and entered into Radar.
-Interpret and advise on Charter Party clauses and their effects in terms of legal liabilities and demurrage exposure.

ABOUT YOU:

-You should have a minimum of 3 years Shipping and Trading Industry experience.
-A good understanding of demurrage and Trading Operations.
-Motivated and results driven with good interpersonal skills.

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
