Demurrage Claims Analyst: Trading Systems: World Leading Global Energy

DEMURRAGE CLAIMS ANALYST: TRADING SYSTEMS: WORLD LEADING GLOBAL ENERGY TRADING COMPANY

World Leading Global Energy Trading Company has an exciting opportunity for a Demurrage Claims Analyst. This role will involve training new team members and expanding the knowledge base of existing members, including identifying areas of avoidable profit leakage and implementing solutions to address these. You will continually seek ways to improve processes within the team to promote efficiency and will audit Demurrage claims for error.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

- Prepare and negotiate with external customers all demurrage claims for all elements of the oil and freight deals. The aim being to maximize recoveries and to minimize profit leakage from the business.
- Ensure that any specific points and costs that may arise from these negotiations that are seen as structural to the deal are fed back to the business so that cost allowances can be built into any future deals.
- Advise Oil and Freight Traders, supply and Global Trading Network focal points on the potential recovery of demurrage and other movement related expenses.
- Update relevant trading systems and be responsible to Trading Book Holder for this activity.
- Receive and negotiate (or reject) claims from Third Parties and Owners.
- Calculate any deviation and detention costs. Ensure these costs are recovered from the contracting party.
- Advise on and interpret Charter Party clauses and their effects in terms of legal liabilities and demurrage exposure.
- Increase business knowledge of demurrage by face to face meetings, presentations and other means with the objective of reducing demurrage exposure.

You need to be a dynamic person with a broad and in depth understanding of demurrage claims and Trading systems.

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
