DEMURRAGE ANALYST: GLOBAL SHIPPING AND OIL CO.

World Leading Global Energy Trading Company has an exciting opportunity for a Demurrage Analyst to join their dynamic and friendly London Demurrage Team.

Work in Demurrage is both varied and stimulating. You will gain exposure to all aspects of the Trading activities. Communications and negotiations will be with internal and external counterparties from around the world, on a daily basis. Demurrage is a Global activity, with other teams being situated in Barbados, Houston, Singapore and Dubai.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

- Negotiation with external customers on demurrage, deviation and detention claims
- Minimize profit leakage from the business in a timely manner
- Processing and recovery of all demurrage claims as appropriate
- Proactively seek to identify and incorporate best practices from the industry to improve team performance
- Advise on the potential recovery of demurrage and other voyage related expenses
- Receive and negotiate (or reject) claims from Third Party Owners on chartered vessels
- Update Trading systems in a timely manner and ensure Trade book is always fully informed of changes to P&L
- Interpret and advise on Charter Party clauses and their effects in terms of legal liabilities and demurrage exposure

ABOUT YOU:

- Experience of the Shipping and Trading Industry and a strong understanding of demurrage, charter parties, oil contracts and Trading Operations
- Motivated and results driven, with excellent interpersonal skills with confidence to communicate and influence Trading managers
- Work well under pressure and be an integral member of the team
- Able to maintain a pro-active approach to the raising of and pursuit of claims and as required, pursue face to face negotiations with third party or affiliate customers
- Strong academic background and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
