The Production Planner is responsible for inventory, capacity and production planning leveraging lean principles for continuous process improvement. This includes resolving complex capacity challenges and the identification of opportunities with significant cost impacts. The position is the primary contact for sector manufacturing leadership, Business Teams, production plants, co-manufacturers and international supply chain for the management of inventory and production planning of their asset class or category. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the full scope of plant supply planning activities (ie shutdowns, ramp-ups, experimental runs).

Manage inventory strategies and case fill rate to best achieve deliverables as established by Supply Chain, Business Teams, and other company initiatives.
Communicate and resolve supply risks/opportunities in a timely manner with the Plants, Materials Management, Schedulers, Deployment, Customer Supply Chain, and Supply Chain Management Team.
Participate in project activities related to assigned desk supporting business development and change management
Get plant buy-in to planning principles as needed (Run rules/ABC/CTC)
Develop, initiate and communicate total Supply Chain solutions, strategies, supply risk/opportunities and appropriate contingency plans for both short and long term windows
Co-lead inventory/capacity/production review with cross-functional operations attendance
Maintain integrity of the tools used (ie, set-ups, dismantling & inventory strategies) to include optimization of supply chain resources & manufacturing assets. Demonstrate expertise in all systems/software used.
Develop Finished Goods (FG) Inventory budgets and adhere to targets accordingly
Provide 12- 24 month forecast horizon for inventory, production and capacity
Support i2M process and execute commercialization for discontinuation, launches, SKU rationalization
Develop recommendations for continuous improvement based on impacts on Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
Establish and maintain effective, 2-way relationships with business partners
Ability to use Lean principles to drive and apply Process Improvement while embracing the concepts
Will also work on commercialization, launch plans, abstract thinking to flush out process issues - Negotiating Skills Required

SKILLS:

Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant experience
Plant Experience is a plus
Experience with a CPG is a plus
MRP/DRP experience
BA, BSC, BEng. (Accounting, Business Admin, Logistics, Computer Science)
APICS, IBF, CITT Certification preferred
SAP/Manugistics experience is a must
Green Belt certification a plus
