Harvey Nash is looking for a Decision Support Manager for a 12 month project with 50% workload in Switzerland.

The role is for a candidate to improve the speed and quality of cross-functional planning and decision making by ensuring easy accessibility to relevant and current information with optimal efficiency. The candidate has to support strategic decision making by analysing schedule, costs, and performance of R&D project and program portfolio and provide advice and strategic recommendations to senior management

You are responsible for

. identifying opportunities for process performance improvement and by developing creative solutions for optimizing the efficiency of business processes
. Planning and managing the implementation of competitively superior processes, data infrastructures, and systems for decision making support
. Recognizing opportunities, building case for change, and leading further development and improvement of project-, resource-, and decision support information systems and processes on an ongoing basis.
. Managing and coordinating cross-functional project teams, including external support staff. Guiding and interacting with Finance, Controlling, and IT/Business Support functions in Global Line Functions, Business Units, and Business Franchises across and beyond R&D.
. Defining and executing the strategy of the Decision Support group to further enhance project-, resource-management and decision support processes
. Tracking costs and timeline changes for all project within one Therapeutic Area
. Implementing and maintaining Balanced Scorecard incl. Key Performance Indicators for Drug Development Portfolio and Processes
. Designing training programs for new associates

Requirements

. Fluent English (oral and written)
. 5+ years of both, pharmaceutical industry experience and project & resource management in an international and multi-disciplinary environment. Strong knowledge of the overall global drug development process
. At least four years industry experience in planning, budgeting, and tracking financial and non-financial project data
. Strong computer literacy in office-, project- and resource-management applications. Very good experience in web-based reporting and executive information systems
. Proven skill set in implementing and managing activity based project & resource management processes and systems in complex global R&D organization. Excellent knowledge of best industry practice
. Knowledge and understanding of the competitive environment of Novartis Pharma and ability to assess implications on global project, resource management and decisions support in R&D
. Very good analytical, problem solving, planning and organizational skills. Excellent team player able to work under pressure with strong customer orientated work stile
. Very strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
. Good leadership skills demonstrated within line function or on teams
. If possible: Experience in empirical field studies, performance measurement and benchmarking in Pharma R&D
