Our client, a well respected Housing Association in the South West, who are actively recruiting a specialist Debt Recovery Officer to negotiate repayment agreements with customers to maximise income to the association and avoid enforcement of tenancy conditions where possible.

The company are looking for a candidate to work from home (very rare!) and cover the Bristol and Gloucestershire region. This is a superb opportunity to get a great Housing Association on your CV, but also the ability to keep your commuting costs to a minimum!!

Duties will include:
Accept referrals for personal visits with customers from the Income Centre and other sources and carry out these visits in a timely manner. Proactively identify cases for visit/enforcement when necessary.
Represent the association in court, litigation, tribunal or other proceedings.
Responsible for maintaining and updating detailed records in order to prepare statistics, reports, effective case histories and ensure the smooth running of IT system processes as necessary.
Responsible for providing advice on entitlements to housing and welfare benefits, debt management and maximising personal income, making appropriate referrals in complex cases.
To attend meetings with customers, their representatives and external agencies for the benefit of the organisation, recovery processes and wider housing management functions, as well as providing effective joined up services for customers.
Work in partnership with other officers in relation to tenancy breaches and make appropriate referrals to internal and external support/welfare services/agencies.
Participate in initiatives, supporting wider initiatives such as the homelessness prevention, welfare reform and digital and financial inclusion agendas.
