DBA (SQL) with Java Development - SC Clearance - Birmingham

Hybrid SQL DBA/Java Developer required with SC Clearance for market leader. The ratio mix from DBA to Developer will be 70/30.

Key Duties:

- Strong Database/DBA skills in at least MS SQLServer and MySQL. Experience in designing and managing databases (including optimisation) as well as the development of efficient queries (including helping other development staff where they may not be so skilled)
- Likely to take the lead in setting up Java based API connections between multiple source and destination systems, in particular using MySQL and MS SQL Server source databases.
- Experience developing/supporting Java/JSP (and associated HTML5 and JavaScript) components would be an advantage
- A broad-skilled senior Java developer able to take hands-on ownership of a range of mostly Back End Java components

Essential Skills:

- Java/JSP
- MS SQLServer 2014 & MySQL (DBA/Design and query/SP writing and support)
- Experience working in Windows and Linux Back End environments.
- Experience of integrating with databases including MySQL and MS SQLServer.
- Strong experience of (and commitment to) Source Control best practice - ie GitHub.
- Excellent documentation skills.
