DBA

Calling on Dutch & French speaking DBAs! We are urgently recruiting for a Freelance Database Administrator to join our client located in Brussels on a 6 months contract (possible extension).

THE TEAM INFO:
As part of the INFRASTRUCTURE group in the ICT department, the team is currently composed 14 members with 10 DBA's and 4 BI System engineers.
- The Oracle DBA team is responsible for the installation, configuration, management, optimization, and monitoring of a complex environment with around 300 databases as well as for the continuous integration of new Oracle features. The team also acts as technical expert advisor in the scope of projects or in case of architectural studies.
- The Infra BI team is responsible for the installation, configuration, management, optimization, and monitoring of a complex environments with SAP BI, SAP BDS, and SAS solutions. With help of KPI's, the team always seek for better performance and better efficiency in term of technical and operational expertise and obviously in term of services towards our customers.

ROLE/TASKS:
- As core team member of the Oracle New Platform project, the DBA will move Oracle DB's from the existing infra towards the new one. Actually this consists on the virtualization of DB on ESX VMWare platforms and storage migration from SAN to NAS.
- The task not only requires strong technical skills, but also strong negotiation, coordination, and planning.

REQUIRED SKILLS - Must have's:
- Deep knowledge of administration and installation of Oracle DBMS 10.2 en 11.2
- Deep knowledge of DB tuning and query tuning
- Deep knowledge of SQL en PL/SQL
- Deep knowledge of RMAN (backup, restore, PITR, catalog, recovery in different scenario's)
- Good knowledge of DataGuard (day-to-day operational + install/configuration/maintenance)
- Knowledge of RAC and ASM
- Experience with DB upgrades & patching (new releases, opatch, PSU/CPU patching, one-off patches)
- Experience with migrations and consolidations (ie. platform migrations)
- Knowledge OEM version 12c:
- Setup and maintain target monitoring (metrics, templates, rules, notification methods)
- Setup, maintain and patch OEM components (OMS, OMR and OMA)
- Setup and maintain targets (OMS, ASM, Cluster DB, Listener,...) in OEM
- Knowledge of client-connectivity: JDBC/SQL*Net
- Support of business as well as dev teams, troubleshooting skills
- Good knowledge OS: Solaris & Linux (general usage + Scripting)
- Experience with Oracle in a virtual environment (VMWARE/OVM)
