Prestigious client requires an accomplished DB2 DBA with solid Mainframe experience to manage the DB2 database capacity, performance and availability, providing advice and consultancy on major database changes as well as DB2 design.

* Excellent communication skills will enable you to build and maintain relationships whilst working closely with our stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery within timescales and to budget.
* Business Knowledge. Experience of liaising with peers in business and delivery factory
* Can propose system solutions within component or application to business issues
* Deep understanding of the internal and external environment related to own IT department/function:
* Can identify the specific functions and responsibilities and key customers and relationships of own IT department/function.
* Able to interpret and apply policies and standards
* Contributes to the development and implementation of standards and procedures
* Can discuss potential risks and benefits of emerging technologies
* Has participated in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies

Has a deep understanding of the overall development process and an advanced knowledge in one or more of the main phases. Can identify and use advanced prototyping functions and features for application requirements. Can use effectively automated modelling tools and associated techniques. Conducts walk-through and monitors quality of the development activities. Has developed and executed a full spectrum of tests on multiple applications and environments. Knowledge and expertise in database development life cycle with expertise of the techniques and tools being used across the data development life cycle. Experience in the design, build, performance, implementation, housekeeping and live support of Mainframe database management system components Experience in database configuration including database schemas and database installation.
