DB2 DBA LUW

For our client in Amstelveen we're currently looking for a DB2 Database Administrator on Linux, Unix and Windows (LUW).

IBM® DB2® for Linux, UNIX and Windows is the database of choice for robust, enterprise-wide solutions handling high-volume workloads. DB2 is optimized to deliver industry-leading performance while lowering costs.

As an experienced Midrange DB2 DBA you will be responsible to execute DB2 activities required to support DB2 activities within a number of various size projects for a large organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design database environments and databases

Design, develop, modify, test, release/deploy and maintain database objects, database security, audit solutions and recovery solutions

Execute database and data recovery

Manage database performance, capacity and availability

DBMS SW implementation, upgrade, patching

Utilise and enhance best practices to develop work plans, checklists and defined processes

Proactively support the project teams

Provide advice on complex application data issues

Ensures database support documentation is developed

Design database monitoring solutions and assists others in monitoring and proactively anticipating or identifying issues

Provides time/resource estimates for assigned project tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have a good mix of technical skills and a strong customer focus.

You will be able to successfully deliver to tight timeframes and clearly communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

DB2 Midrange certification a requirement (latest level)

Min 2 years experience working within ITIL process/organization

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 5 years DB2 DBA experience within a project environment handling large databases

Wintel, UNIX and Linux System knowledge

Strong DB2 System performance and recovery experience

Strong DB2 diagnostics and debugging skills

Experience in database design, tuning, and performance analysis (Candidates must have in-depth understanding of Join methods, data access path, and Traces)

Experience in the use of Windows Clustering/Networking, Partitioning and indexing

Experience with Linux (Redhat), and Unix AIX desired

Demonstrated use of Scripting, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Cursors, Logins and Views

Secondary Middleware experience (Teradata, BigData, Oracle, WebSphere) is highly desirableMichael Bailey International is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
