As member of the team s/he will participate in software installation and configuration, release management, application design reviews and support the production and test environments

The main tasks of the DB2 DBA are:

Manage the Mainframe Database infrastructure to ensure the production stability, availability and security
Troubleshoot incidents and problems
Monitor and tune the performance
Provide technical advices and guidelines to development teams and project leaders to make an efficient use of the database infrastructure while respecting the best practices and company policies and processes.
Participate in the review of applicative designs and the deployment in production.
Maintain the versioning of software's
Ensure the recoverability of the Data
Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of data management principles and be an expert of the RDBMS

OPERATING SYSTEMS: z/OS

The candidate should also accept to participate in the watch duty rotation.
Launch support and maintenances over the week-end and public holidays will also be required
This counts for about 1 week by month

You have proven experience in DB2 Administration and installation and in Application support,
> to install, monitor and manage versions of the different software currently used at Client
> to identify, analyze and propose improvements to applications and SQL performance,
> to be familiar with data modelling techniques (eg: to review and propose improvements to Datamodelling and application design).

Profile

The candidate must have a proven experience with:

- DB2 for z/OS
- IBM DB2 Utilities
- IBM DB2 Tools
- Omegamon for DB2
- Data Replication (Q Replication and SQL Replication aka DPROPR)
- QMF for z/OS, QMF HPO, QMF for Windows
- DB2 Connect,
- DB2 Information Integrator (ex Datajoiner)
- DDF/WLM Store procedures
- Cobol or PL/I and Assembler programming (exit routines, ...)
- Rexx, Clist, Ispf ...
- Parallel SYSPLEX and DB2 data sharing,

Skills and experience with performance monitoring, performance traces analysis and Datamodelling are a must..

Functional skills
S/he must be able to work independently while keeping a team spirit and is committed to deliver. S/he might have to participate into the stand-by and week-ends/night work activities. The candidate must be communicative, have social skills and be compliant with organizational rules and processes
