DB2/Database Administrator

My client is a global outsourcing organisation based in Sydney's Inner West Location. This is initially a 3 month contract with the view to extend.

We are in urgent need of an experienced Database Administrator who can hit the ground running. Ideally you will have EXTENSIVE DBMS KNOWLEDGE, SPECIFICALLY DB2 AND IDMS. You will also have the ability to test and troubleshoot problems through to solutions and the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical resources to ensure effective communication.

Responsibilities include:

- Analysis of business requirements
- Coding of modifications or new program
- Creation of documentation, testing and maintenance of applications, infrastructure, and information systems including database management systems.
- Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of multiple factors.
- Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
- Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.
- Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients.

You must have previous experience as a Database Administrator or DB2 to be considered for this role.
