Datawarehouse Functional Analyst

Functional Analyst DW/BI is being sought. The successful applicant will work closely with the business, developers and other Technology teams on the implementation of new change requests and projects in the area of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. This position requires excellent functional and analytical skills and a good understanding of the retail business. The Functional Analyst DW/BI should furthermore display an outstanding competence to communicate and prioritize. Responsibilities: Collect business requirements and prepare functional requirements Design DW and reporting solutions/enhancements in line with the guidelines set by the EDM architects Make sure solutions are scalable for the future roll-out Coordinate development efforts within the team Operate in conjunction with European and business unit team members Conduct QA testing and organize UA testing Incident management & support to the business Constantly focus on performance, reliability and compliance of DW & reporting solutions Keep team documentation up-to-date Provide consultancy to other IT teams relating to the EDM applications Contribute to the evolution of Staples Systems Strategy through observation of trends in use on the Enterprise Data Management systems and communicating recommendations to Senior Managers Qualification/Requirements: Extensive experience in a functional role with a focus on Data Warehousing Excellent analytical mind Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize Strong written and verbal communication skills in English with both technical and non-technical personnel Knowledge of SAP tools (BO, BODS, BW) is an asset but not essential Ability to travel within Europe (maximum 5% of the time)
