Datastage ETL Developer

Seeking an experienced IT contractor to provide ETL development for new and existing systems. Will be responsible for analysing business requirements and implementing scalable ETL processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Understand business requirements, providing expert knowledge and data integration solutions
- Move 100+ integrated systems to new infrastructure in a relocated data center
- Evaluate, design, and develop solutions that provide data collection, data staging, and data movement
- Provide detailed technical specifications and ETL documentation required in each phase of the SDLC, and comply to internal standards and guidelines
- Identify opportunities to optimize the ETL environment, implement monitoring, and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Provide post-implementation support and respond to problems quickly with short and long term resolutions
- Provide reviews of deliverables and identify gaps/areas for improvement
- Assist in defining ongoing timelines and cost estimates
- Kalamazoo location only; no remote

SKILLS:

REQUIREMENTS:

- 4-7 years experience with ETL and SQL Server required
- 5+ years of IT experience with hands-on experience in developing integrated ETL-based solutions
- Technically strong in ETL concepts, design, and development using IBM DataStage 8.1 (or similar technologies)
- Technically strong in relational database concepts, design, and development using SQL Server 2008 R2/2012 and Oracle 10g/11g
- Ability to identify required tasks and accurately determine needed resources and time frames to complete projects and enhancements
- Ability to take direction from senior Information and Systems Architects
- Ability to communicate technology-based solutions to non-technical business users and project managers.
- Preferred: Domain knowledge in life sciences, specifically the pharmaceutical industry
- Preferred: Knowledge of SAP Business Objects BI 4.0, ER/Studio, MySQL, MariaDB, Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2012
