DATASTAGE DEVELOPER

My client is a global insurer based in the City and they are seeking a DataStage Developer focussed on developing DataStage code to support a New Underwriting System being implemented. The role will focus on the development of feeds between the Enterprise Data Warehouse and the new PAS System.

GENERAL ACTIVITIES & KEY TASKS:

ETL development work within the IBM DataStage toolset and within SQL Server T-SQL
Datamodelling and data warehouse solution design
Liaise with the BI Analyst to specify, design and implement changes to the data warehouse as required by the business
Provide assistance with the resolution of user problems and queries
Data analysis, reconciliation and manipulation as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Must have at least two years' experience of using IBM DataStage (ideally to version 8.1 or above)
Knowledge of SQL Server with experience of the following:
o Database schema design
o Advanced T-SQL coding.
Working knowledge of the IBM Information Server suite including Changed Data Capture, QualityStage and Metadata Workbench
Full project life cycle experience from initial design and Datamodelling through development, testing and into production support.
Knowledge of data warehouse and ETL development techniques
Excellent analysis skills with the ability to convert business requirements into practical solutions.
Confident, friendly, self-motivated personality
Good written and verbal communication skills.

DESIRABLE SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Hands-on experience implementing large scale data warehouse and BI solutions preferred
London Market Insurance knowledge and experience highly desirable
Experience of using changed data capture, data quality and data cleansing technologies and strategies
