Your role will be to support to a major project in the preparation of technical requirement specifications for RF data link subsystems, including antennas.

You will be responsible for Microwave data link sub-system design, including:
- Development of sub-system requirement documents
- Modelling of data link operation
- Detailed data link sub system design
- Communications waveform design
- Planning and attendance of data link trials.
- Calculating and applying data link power budgets

Essential Skills and Knowledge required for the role:
Design of data link sub-systems
Analysing data link performance in the presence of clutter (ground and weather) and sophisticated counter-measures.
Generation of test strategies

The following skills and knowledge would be highly regarded for this role:
Knowledge of current military communications systems
Knowledge of spectrum management/co-siting interference calculations etc.
Experience of antenna design/specification/testing etc.
Knowledge of current error correction, compression and encoding methodologies.
