Datacentre Operations Engineer

An Amsterdam based client require a contractor with strong desktop and infrastructure expertise. The candidate will need to be fluent in English and Dutch, and able to work in the Amsterdam based Datacentre. The role will be day to day technical support as well as integration activities that will impact the Amsterdam site. This is a contract role for six months.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

- Ability to quickly gain the technical, behavioural and contextual elements required to support local environment.
- Ability to work in an international environment
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience in a Data Centre environment.
- Experience with Windows/Linux operating systems
- Firewall: Linux/Unix/Fortinet 1&2
- ITIL certification a plus
- Tactful and diplomatic
- Strong communicator
- Good problem solving skills
- Strong facilitation and analytical skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensures that all internal employees have access to the right accounts, equipment (including cell phones), and systems insofar as relevant to their position.
- Network management and operation
- Security and system patching
- Install, configure and service monitoring equipment.
- Participate in internal IT project
- Network transition and separation between the corporate and the operations networks
