Datacenter Virtualization SME

Seeking a DATACENTER VIRTUALIZATION SME to facilitate evaluation and migration of various application platforms from old to new datacenter. This is a CONTRACT TO HIRE opportunity!

Major duties include utilizing various information sources to locate technical contacts for applications and facilitating assessment workshops to assess each application for opportunity to migrate from San Ramon datacenter to the North America datacenter. Function as second assessor for teammates to help document and answer questions that arise during the workshop. Compile information into standard format, and complete team documentation and peer review teammates documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

- 5 to 7 years customer service related experience required
- Extensive experience required in server virtualization using VMware, Windows Server Operating Systems including upgrading 2003 to 2008 with experience migrating virtual Servers and creating new virtual Servers from existing physical Servers
- Knowledge of relationships between database, applications, server operating systems required
- Strong verbal, written and facilitation skills a must, as this person will be speaking to global customers, facilitating workshops, determining needs for asset migration
- Some idea of applications and Servers associations, ie OS, Front End, Back End, databases, IIS
- Strong experience and skills using SQL
- Ability to manipulate data in Excel, Word and OneNote
- Critical/analytical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills via telephone conference calls
- Ability to work independently and manage one's time
- Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent training/education
