DATACENTER SYSTEMS ENGINEER - BRUSSELS, BELGIUM

LANGUAGES: ENGLISH and FRENCH

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor in informatica or equivalent experience
- Deep knowledge of the material and of the system information architecture
- Knowledge of the used software package and database
- Deep knowledge of the operating systems and the network
- Understanding and evaluation of IT risk and securety
- Advanced expertise in Linux
- Experience in project management
- Knowledge of ITIL process

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

- Installations, updates and maintenance of the server (machine) and operating systems and software (Activates Directory, MS Exchange, File server, Citrix, Web server, information on the Internet/Intranet)
- Carry out the corrections and the necessary adjustments to the optimization of the performances
- Analyze problems and make decisions to be taken in order to ensure the availability of the systems (7 days a week; 24 hours a day)
- Solve remote problems or on the spot by analysing the error message using the various existing tools and to take measures which are essential in order to solve these problems quickly and correctly.
- Optimize the operation and the performances of the Servers, via the firmware.
- Conclude the projects in the field of responsibility, be present with his/her responsible in the meeting related to the projects in order to provide his/her opinion and to carry out the work required according to its competences, to check the work carried out by the external subcontractors and also ensure the respect of the deadlines
- Carry out search on request, provide advices and an expertise in its field
- Feed and guarantee the quality of the documentation, formalize the technical knowledge in order to put them at the disposal of all the people concerned (knowledge management)
- Ensure the setting in production of the Computer systems by respecting a follow-up and a quality of service.
- Ensure the installation, the follow-up and the good performance of the equipment of the computer room (Servers, Blade Center, SAN, storage)
- Organize and secure the file Servers
- STIB mail backup and restore
- Ensure the development and the operation of the process of systems monitoring.
