Infrastructure architect Data center Tasks
The IT Architect will contribute to projects or studies for different business units within the Customer's organisation. He/She will define, design and document the infrastructure architecture, he/she will do the technical follow-up and steering of the implementation of the solution and as such he/she will be responsible for the technical solution.
TYPICALLY THE IT ARCHITECT WILL:
- Analyze requirements, check feasibility
- Define, design and document the IT solution compliant with security and governance rules, Policies and standards and in line with the business requirements
- Provide direction to the project team for the detailed design and implementation
- Validate the detailed design and eventually the implementation of the IT solution in order to ensure current and future business needs are covered and IT solution is compliant with the architectural framework.
EXPERIENCE
- For this specific job, the IT Architect will be assigned on projects that will define, build up and move datacenters. An experience of at least 8 years in complex infrastructure environments is required.
- The IT Architect needs to have advanced know-how and experience (at least 3 years) on how modern datacenters are constructed and exploited. He/She must have extended knowledge of the equipment that's used inside the data center (network, server, storage and backup hardware, in-bound and out-bound management tools,) and the impact this equipment has on the conception and operations of the data center in terms of weight, power, cooling, cabling.
- Knowledge of cabling techniques is an asset.
- Knowledge of modern Data Center management tools is an asset.
- The IT architect must have a good knowledge of the different network layers and their impact with regards to interconnectivity of data centers.
- The IT architect must have experience in data center migration projects as one of his tasks will be the definition of migration strategies.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Togaf9(.1) >knowledge=ADF cycle
- Used tool for architecture = Visio/archimate
- Project management principles
- Datacenter consolidation, your vision, preferred strategy
- Travelling to Paris on a regular basis (day trips approximately every forthnight).
LINGUISTIC SKILLS
- Very good knowledge of French and English.
