Datacenter Engineer

We're looking for a Datacenter Engineer for one of our clients in Amsterdam.

KNOWLEDGE

-

HBO/HTS education (Computer Science or other technical subject preferred) OR comparable.
-

Very strong English language skills (writtenIncident; Release; Problem management. ITIL certification preferred.
-

An understanding of the procurement processes
-

A background in hands-on technical administration within IT Infrastructure and Operations will be useful.
-

A good understanding of IT and the link between business processes, people and systems and how Infrastructure supports them.
-

Broad awareness of the Telco world - cable, mobile and IP network technologies together with their IT solutions CRM, Billing, Web, ERP, BSS/OSS Telco systems.
-

Able to translate requests from the non-IT community into IT technical language (and vice-versa).
-

A solid ability to generate excellent readable technical documentation.
-

Strong MS Office skills (all tools) - able to write clear, detailed and non-jargoned documents.
-

Self-starter that excels in a fast paced and evolving environment coupled with a drive to succeed - timid mice need not apply!

EXPERIENCE

-

At least 3 years solid Production large-scale Data Centre operations experience.
-

Some hands-on IT Infrastructure administration. This should be at least one of System; Network; Database; Office Enterprise; etc administration skills.

Allied to the above - solid and demonstrable experience of IT Production technologies, operationsx86 hardware (stand-alone; blade; building block); StorageVirtualisation (VMware, OVM); ToolingNetwork (Cisco, F5); etc
